Documents & Pictures
1. 25th Anniversary documents. This appears to be a package of documents put together for the 25th Anniversary celebrations. It includes a short history by Bob Sloss, our first Commandant.
If any CLSer knows or can make a good guess at the dates of these pics, and add any comments on the pictures/perspective, etc., please post a message here or write to Alan Burbridge or David Ellis (see Contacts).
2. Robin Crosleigh’s Presentation to the U3A History Group
This is a PDF version of the presentation of which, in newsletter #4o, Autumn 2017, Robin Croslegh wrote:
“One of my Rotarian friends having heard a few anecdotes concerning the tonal and character differences between an Airfield and a Chicken Farm suggested I would give the U3A History Group a presentation on the History of China. The CLS had not prepared me for this! Luckily I found a book by John Keay that filled the gaps. I was given 40 minutes to cover 3000BC to the present day……
I now have a Powerpoint presentation that lasts up until 649 AD. I taught them a Dynasty Song. It is sung to the tune of Frere Jaques.”
